Mr. Handyman 2010 National Day of Service

Several local charities around the country will be big winners on September 10, 2010 when locally-owned Mr. Handyman franchises donates the skills of its technicians as they observe the National Day of Service.

Mr. Handyman is a full-service home repair and maintenance franchise, and is donating nearly 500 hours of our technicians’ time to repair drywall, paint, stain decks, mend fences and make doorways and hallways more accessible.

As the No. 1 employer of handymen in the nation, Mr. Handyman will have more than 60 technicians participating in the National Day of Service from Los Angeles to Chicago.

More than 300 U.S. and Canadian locations will rally around the cause and donate their skilled technicians’ time to a local charity of choice. Ideally, company executives at the franchise system’s national headquarters aim to donate more than 500 hours of work to homeless shelters, hospitals, senior care centers, schools and churches, as well as non-profits and individuals.

A few charities receiving assistance from Mr. Handyman franchisees across the system are highlighted below:

• Mark Bush, Michael Riley, Tom Ware and Kevin Morris Mr. Handyman owners in the Greater Dallas Metropolitan area will be donating to the Grapevine Relief and Community Exchange.
• Nathan Willard, general manager of My Handyman of Ann Arbor be donating to the Ronald McDonald House
• Greg Paxton, Mr. Handyman of Kanawha Valley will be donating to Rea of Hope Fellowship Home.
• Greg Kruchko, owner of Mr. Handyman of Kenosha to Geneva will be donating to Shalom Center.
• Vicky Davison and Mike Pembroke, owners of Mr. Handyman of Sandy and Draper will be donating to the YWCA of Salt Lake City.
• David Zyski, owner of Mr. Handyman of Central Lucas will be donating to The Autism Model School.
• Ted Tenenbaum, owner of Mr. Handyman of Beverly Hills and David Silverman, President of Mr. Handyman of West Los Angeles will be donating to The Children’s Miracle Network and Childrens Hospital Los Angeles.
• Chad Olson, owner of Mr. Handyman Serving Debary/Lake Mary/Winter Springs will be donating to the Safehouse of Seminole.
• Cathy & Al Lins, owners of Mr. Handyman Of Naperville will be donating to The Lazarus House.
• Sylvia Matijasevich, owner of Mr. Handyman of SW Minneapolis and SW Suburbs will be donating to Wingspan Life Resources.
• Mark Slagle, owner of Mr. Handyman of Southeastern Wayne County will be donating to the Senior Alliance
