  1. From the 2 lengths of PVC Pipe, cut 8 – 12″ sections and 8 – 16” sections.
  2. Spray paint all the PVC sections, all the joints and the pumpkin if you choose to make it black as seen in the video.
  3. After 30 minutes to an hour, when the pieces are dry enough, spray paint the other side. Once all the pieces are completely dry, assemble the legs. Start with 16” segment, attach a 90° joint, then a 12″ segment, and finally a 45° segment at the end of the 12″ segment.
  4. There are many ways you can decorate or carve the pumpkin to look like a spider. Whatever you want your face to look like it is best to do it before final assembly.
  5. Assemble the spider. Place the pumpkin on the grass or dirt, as it will be tough for the legs to stand up on a hard surface like wood or concrete. If you carved your pumpkin, insert lighting elements at this time. Finally, arrange the 4 legs on each side of the pumpkin, with the 45° joints near the base of the pumpkin and the 16” PVC length pointed out.
  6. If your legs won’t stay up on their own, insert a long nail into the ground or dirt to help stabilize the legs.

Our fans have jumped in on the Pumpkin Spider fun. A shout out to Peter in California for sharing his photos of his pumpkin spider creation. Do you have pictures you would like to share? Send them to Handy@MrHandyman.com
